                      How we got started...

                      The translation of “Los Cabos” means “The Capes,” which represents twin cities in Baja California, Mexico, Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.

                      Sergio and Jose opened the doors of Los Cabos Mexican Restaurant on September 9, 2006. Conveniently located on Westport Avenue, next to the famous Stew Leonard’s, the goal was to offer Fairfield County the best Authentic Mexican Cuisine.

                      At 3pm, Los Cabos Mexican Restaurant revealed its amazing recipes and dishes to a full house of interested guests. Our first couple to dine with us was celebrating their wedding anniversary. They have become wonderful friends over the years with their continuous visits to the restaurant and are now considered a part of our extended family.

                      Both Sergio and Jose, collectively offer over 25 years of experience in the restaurant industry and having originated from the Los Cabos, Mexico region decided to incorporate their favorite family recipes from over 3 generations. We only use the freshest of ingredients and our food is prepared daily from scratch. We pride ourselves on our continuous creation of new dishes that our guests cannot find anywhere else.  

                      In January, 2010, we welcomed our newest partner, Erwin, to the Los Cabos Mexican Restaurant Team. With this addition we worked together to maintain our goal to provide our customers with the best dining experience. As you have likely seen with your recent visit, major restaurant renovations have expanded our bar area and developed more room for dining along with an in-house Tortilla Station. Perfect for Happy Hour Fiesta’s or Tequila Tasting events! Additional and very exciting renovations are planned for 2011 as well, you’ll have to come visit and see!

                      The newly expanded and revised menu includes our favorite dishes like our Fajitas and a handful of new options you’ll love!  Los Cabos Mexican Restaurant is most proud of the fresh tableside-made guacamole. Our Grandmother’s “authentic guacamole” recipe, just like she prepared in Mexico, includes fresh Mexican cheese, YUM!  We know many of our customers were skeptical of any guacamole that had cheese in it, but it’s very quickly risen to the top of our most popular dishes. Today, 3 out of 4 customers prefer the Mexican guacamole over the still very popular American version.  This has really helped reinforce our goal to have the most authentic and unique Mexican food in Connecticut.    

                      As for the future, we can’t predict what is has in-store, but we are always open to new ideas and suggestions.  Keep checking out this website for updates and specials.  Now come join us for a drink, laugh and talk, and enjoy the best authentic Mexican food in Connecticut!  Hasta luego Amigos!
